HUGE CONGRATS TO MISS MORGAN AND KAY FOR RECEIVING.....

THE ORTHOPEDIC FOUNDATION FOR ANIMALS
2009 CHAMPION OF HEALTH AWARD!

The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, along with the Mastiff Club of America, is pleased to present the annual Champion of Health Award to CH Creekview's Major Morgan, CDX, RE, NA, AXP, MJP, NFP, CGC, TDI owned and bred by Kay Routten.

The OFA Champion of Health is an annual award given through the breed's parent club to a dog that has achieved significant accomplishments in the ring, in the field, as a producer, or as a working dog, AND that has the appropriate complement of health certifications.

Morgan has passed numerous health tests including OFA Hip, Elbow, Cardiac, Thyroid and CERF and she has been AKC DNA Profiled.  Morgan has also met the Mastiff Club of America's criteria for CHIC.  In the ring her accomplishments include titles in multiple venues including conformation, agility, obedience, and rally which have earned her a Mastiff Club of America Working Dog Supreme Certificate.  Morgan is the first Mastiff to be invited to the AKC Eukanuba Agility Invitational Competition and she ran clean runs both days at 7 years of age during the 2008 competition!  In addition to Morgan's accomplishments in the ring, she has been an exceptional Therapy Dog visiting nursing homes, hospitals, juvenile detention facilities, and rehabilitation centers.  Morgan has marched in Christmas parades, participated in the Paws for Reading Program and helped with AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day and Meet the Breed events.

We are pleased to honor Morgan with an engraved silver medallion.  In addition, the OFA will make a $100 donation to the MCOA's Donor Advised Fund at the AKC Canine Health Foundation in her name.

What is a Champion of Health?

THE ORTHOPEDIC FOUNDATION FOR ANIMALS
MASTIFF CLUB OF AMERICA
CHAMPION OF HEALTH AWARDS

Beginning with the 2006 MCOA National Specialty, the Mastiff Club of America, in conjunction with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals started recognizing Mastiffs which have received significant accomplishments in the ring, in the field, as working dogs, or as producers, AND that have the full complement of appropriate health testing (CHIC Certificate recipients) by issuing them a “Champion of Health Award".

These special Mastiffs have been recognized during the banquet award program at our nationals by receiving the “Champion of Health Award” along with an engraved silver medallion and a $100 donation in the dog’s honor to the AKC CHF Mastiff Donor Advised Fund.

If your dog has a CHIC number and has recently celebrated a significant accomplishment at the national level, in the ring, in the field, as a working dog, or as a producer, he or she can be nominated for this exciting award.

Nominations will be made to the MCOA and forwarded to the OFA for their review. The OFA will make the final decision as to who will be awarded the annual “Champion of Health Award"!
